Appliance Worlds is a locally owned and operated appliance store based at 325 Hill Carter Pkwy in Ashland, Virginia.
We serve homeowners, landlords, and property managers across Richmond, Hanover County, Mechanicsville, Midlothian, Fredericksburg, and all surrounding communities with used, scratch and dent, open box, and refurbished appliances, every unit inspected, warranted and delivery-ready.
We opened because we saw a real gap in the Richmond area market. National chain stores charge full retail for appliances that most households do not need at full retail prices. Private sellers offer no accountability and no warranty.
We sit in between, a local store with the inventory variety of a warehouse and the accountability of a neighbour who lives in the same community you do.
What Do We Do?
We source refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, freezers, microwaves and wine fridges from a wide range of channels; manufacturer overstock, insurance returns, retailer floor models, trade-ins and private estates. Every unit that arrives at our Ashland showroom goes through a structured inspection by our team before it is priced, listed or offered for sale.
We carry used appliances that have been previously installed and owned, scratch and dent and open box appliances that are new or nearly new with only exterior cosmetic marks, and warranty-backed units across both categories. Our inventory at 325 Hill Carter Pkwy changes daily; we receive new stock regularly and popular models sell within days of arriving on our floor.

Our Inspection Process
Every appliance we sell — used, scratch and dent or open box — is tested before it reaches our showroom floor. We do not sell on appearance alone.
Refrigerators and Freezers
Cooling performance tested to target temperature in both fresh food and freezer compartments. Door seals, ice makers and water dispensers verified on every unit.
Washers
Full wash cycle run across standard, heavy duty and delicate settings. Water fill, spin speed, drain function and door seal integrity all confirmed before listing.
Dryers and Ranges
Heat element and burner performance tested at all settings. Drum rotation, exhaust airflow, oven temperature accuracy and all cycle controls verified operational.
Dishwashers and Microwaves
Wash cycles, spray arm operation, drain function, door latch and all controls tested. Every unit graded and photographed before pricing.
If a unit does not pass our inspection it does not reach the showroom floor. Every used appliance comes with a 90-day warranty. Scratch and dent and open box models may carry coverage up to 1 year.
