I agree with the overall message of not overcomplicating things.
That being said, that automatic variable creation got me. I’ve never actually read too much into the documentation of the <code>id</code> attribute. The very same documentation discourages from using the <code>id</code> value as a global variable, as the web APIs might in the future overshadow the variable (APIs have precedence over variables automatically derived from the <code>id</code> values), so the safest methods are the ones most known: <code>document.getElementById(...)</code> and <code>document.querySelector(...)</code>.

So much anger in one post.
I gave up reading as I could feel myself getting wound up.
Just a tip for the author, stop the swearing, it makes you sound like a teenager who just discovered the F word.
I agree with the sentiment on using HTML but I feel you would get a more positive response if your audience were not reading in the voice of Samuel L Jackson.

I agree with the message, not the tone though. And the layout is horrible and really tough to read on a big screen.
