Quick facts:
Why publish here?
We are happy to publish any Unix related articles (but see What to write about to be published at aplawrence.com too), scripts, tips, opinion, book or product reviews here. You can provide them as ready to publish basic HTML, or as simple text that I will convert to HTML. Please DON'T submit Microsoft Word documents or Word created HTML- these are a lot of work to convert. If you created it in Word, save as plain text.
It is not difficult to create create simple HTML pages. We won't accept generated HTML - it's just too full of unnecessary tags and is too difficult to reformat for this site. If you use HTML, keep it simple. Do a "View Source" on the Printer Friendly Version - that's the kind of HTML you should submit.
You can submit articles by Email. Include web site and email info in your article if you want people to be able to contact you. That can be a great way to get business; this site gets a LOT of traffic.
On the other hand, if you DON'T want your email published, we won't.
Don't have a website? See Consultants List for a good way to get one that will get traffic.
Be sure to mention if the copyright should be by your company instead of you.
Articles don't have to be lengthy, don't have to have perfect spelling or be shining examples of English prose. Sharing information is what is important here. It doesn't matter if I or anyone else already have a similar article or review; I believe that reading different viewpoints can be very helpful in understanding. If you don't want to take the trouble to write a complete article, but do want to comment on something else here, that's good too: I'll add your notes into an appropriate place and give you full credit.
Don't forget that you can immortalize yourself by adding questions to the Unix Skills Test or the Linux Skills Test and by contributing to the FAQ.
Greater visibility of your writing. This is a popular web site, well indexed by major search engines. If you include links back to your own site, you'll increase your own traffic and visibility. No, we're not Slashdot popular, but we do get a lot of traffic, and you can benefit from that.
I'm also willing to provide a "bio" page where you can expound more upon your talents and any business or personal services you offer.
The more content I have here, the better the site does. It's as simple as that.
Some articles other people have submitted.
Copyrights: If we find that you have copied someone else's work, we will remove ALL of your articles immediately. Don't be stupid.
