As of tomorrow, I will have been on Livejournal for one entire year. Tempus fugit and all that. So tomorrow I may do a long sappy post about how much I love you guys and how great this year has been, and how many of you I've gotten close to and met in RL and all that jazz. But as a prelude to that, I have fic. And this fic, as the long ass author's note makes clear, could not exist without fandom, which is nearly as inspiring as the show itself. So consider this my love letter to all of you, to fandom as a whole. A depressing, apocalyptic love letter - and who doesn't like to get those?
Title: The Rapturous End
Fandom:
Buffy the Vampire SlayerRating: PG
Characters: Buffy, Xander
Length: 4300 words
Summary: Buffy dreams of Xander, in these apocalyptic dreams, when the flashes of blurry image, of rivers of blood and piles of rubble and destruction, clear a space in the middle for him.AN: This story manages to be a "homage" (that's the polite way to say lazy-ass stealing, I guess) to two amazing, wonderful stories that I adore,
Seeing Africa by
huzzlewhat and
Preparing by
lalejandra. So it sort of takes place, more or less, in the same universe(s) as those two stories, and huzzlewhat and lalejandra were gracious enough to let me play with their toys. I also need to thank
moireach, both because she was an amazing beta and because ideas from random conversations we would have kept making their way in here. In case of apocalypse, you know where to go.
