Education's crucial role in eliminating global inequities is recognised by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG-4, which strives for equitable and excellent education by 2030. However, theoretical sustainability research is insufficient, and collaborative efforts are required. This study dives into the NEP's Sustainability education components, emphasising SDG-4 and the obstacles that educational institutions confront while implementing it. It proposes solutions for incorporating sustainability into education, highlighting the need for community effort in attaining sustainable development goals.

By considering tradition and culture, different countries adopt different education systems and different stages during their life cycle at the level of school and college education to make it successful. Recently, the Government of India announced its National Education Policy 2020, which is based on the recommendations by an expert committee headed by Dr. Kasturirangan, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). This paper highlights the present status of vocational education system in India and gives an overview of the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020 regarding vocational education. The act of procrastination impedes an individual's capacity to effectively finish tasks within th... more The act of procrastination impedes an individual's capacity to effectively finish tasks within the allotted time. A person who tends to procrastinate consistently seeks to postpone the task at hand. Primarily the study intends to ascertain the occurrence of procrastination and how it impacts certain demographic factors (gender, locality, faculty, type of institution and type of family) amongst prospective teachers of Aligarh district. The survey involved 150 aspiring teachers, comprising 26 males and 124 females, who were selected from different teacher training institutes of Aligarh district. Academic Procrastination Scale (APS-GSBL) by Dr. Savita Gupta & Liyaqat Bashir, served as the instrument for data collection. Descriptive statistics, such as measures of central tendency (mean), variability (standard deviation), and percentages, were employed to analyze the data. Additionally, inferential statistics, including t-tests and ANOVA, were utilized for further analysis. Analysis revealed no statistically relevant differences in procrastination between male and female prospective teachers. Though prospective teachers from government and private institutions varied significantly in the level of academic procrastination.

Acting as bridges between past knowledge and future potential, teachers, both within classrooms and communities, are the architects of flourishing educational landscapes. It's their impact on individuals and society that cements their role as the heart of progress, forever essential for education's onward journey. While there have been shifts in the responsibilities, knowledge, and training required for educators, the necessity for qualified educators has persisted throughout history. A country needs a clear and forward-thinking education strategy across the board because of the positive impact it can have on its economy and society. The National Education Policy 2020, which was developed with inputs from a panel of experts led by Dr. Kasturirangan, was unveiled by the Government of India. This paper gives an overview of the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020 regarding teacher education and points out some problems related to it. Finally, some suggestions are put forward which could help in achieving its goals.
