What does WLS mean?
Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) also called bariatric surgery, helps people with extreme obesity to lose weight. WLS alters the digestive process so as to achieve rapid weight loss. It is achieved by reducing the size of the stomach with a gastric band or through removal of a portion of the stomach or by resecting and re-routing the small intestine to a small stomach pouch.
