What does V mean?
The normalized frequency (V), also known as the V number, is a dimensionless quantity used to describe the properties of modes in optical fibers.
The V-number can be used to calculate the number of modes that a fiber can support. Generally, the larger the V-number, the more modes the fiber can support.
