1:46 pm - Season 3?
|

Hey fellow American Dreams fans!
I was lucky enough to discover this show last year, watch the whole series online, then my best friend scored me a copy of season 1 on dvd from the states when she went on vacation (i'm from New Zealand, so it never aired here. Boo!) and i've managed to get my mum into the show, she loves it!
I'm downloading season 2 from this community as I type this, i'm nearly finished with season 1 :( However, I can't find season 3 ANYWHERE! :( The site I got it from the first time around has been closed since I finished it, so I have noooo idea where to find it now!
I'm trying to download it using a torrent, but for me it's insanely slow, so if anyone would be awesome enough to upload episode 1-16 of season 3 (I kept the last one, none of the others. Stupid! -facepalm) to megaupload, or hotfile, i'd MAJORLY appreciate it! If you can upload it to any other sites that's fine too, those two are just the fastest for me :)
Thanks a bunch fellow fans! :D

12:58 am - Sarah Ramos
|

I made the discovery today that Sarah Ramos (who played Patty Pryor on American Dreams) is in the new TV series Parenthood. As far as I'm concerned, this is just one more reason to watch the show. (Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Ron Howard, Thomas Schlamme, and Sam Jaeger are the others.)
Anyone else plan on watching on Tuesday?

Hi! I wrote this a while ago, but I was really nervous and didn't post it then. I figured anyone who really likes Sam/Meg might enjoy reading it. : ]
Title: Make You Feel My Love Author: philnggood Pairing: Sam/Meg Rating: PG Summary: Meg returns to Philadelphia after being absent for three years and finds Sam. Sam's POV Notes: I tried to stick as closely to the show as I could, but I hadn't re-watched all the seasons. I really tried though. Fake cut to fanfiction.net

4:16 pm - Show based on a book?
|

Hello, all. I've been watching AD clips over at YouTube, and on one of the videos, a commenter mentioned that American Dreams was based on a book. Anyone know if this is true? And if so, what the book's title and/or author are?

6:49 pm - missing scenes??
|

so i missed a lot of season 2 and 3 when it aired and i've been catching up on them thanks to the wonderful folks in this community who put so much time and effort into putting the seasons up for us to download - thanks a lot by the way!!!
but here's my question: during the recap of the last episode at the beginning of a new one ('previously on american dreams...') they show scenes from the last episode - but i keep seeing scenes that weren't in the last episode! i usually watch a couple episodes in a row so it's not like i could've forgotten that quickly. however i have seen shows do this from time to time - add in some stuff from the cutting room floor just to clue viewers in, but i've been noticing it a lot here. so i looked into it further and looked up episode recaps online and found chunks that didn't correspond with the actual episode either. for example:
Season 3 Episode 3 Summary on TVTome.com: After Meg unsuccessfully tries to recruit other students for her play, Chris makes her an offer that involves breaking and entering in exchange for his and his friends' participation. Meanwhile, as Jack prepares to embrace alternative voting groups for his run as city councilman, Helen tries to understand Donald's alternative lifestyle, and invites him over for dinner. When Beth hears that another pregnant woman's husband is killed in Vietnam, she and JJ, have yet another awkward conversation. Meanwhile, dating Melanie causes Sam to feel like he is from the wrong side of the tracks, and Roxanne moves in with the Pryor's after she learns that her mom is not only remarrying, but moving, too.
After just watching that episode yes another woman's husband is killed in Vietnam, but Beth and JJ never had an awkward conversation. Also Sam feeling like he's from the wrong side of the tracks? Didn't happen either. He barely kissed Melanie for the first time during this episode. Does anyone remember if this is how it was when it aired as well?? Just wondering if I'm missing anything massive!
Thanks again to those who took time to upload these. It was such a great show...I wish they'd just release them on DVD already....

10:23 pm - Official name and address

In episode 1.10, JJ gets an acceptance letter from the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame 56, Indiana). The letter is addressed as follows:
Mr. John Joseph Pryor 884 Schuykill Road Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
And it's dated December 19, 1963.
This was in the days before zip codes!
I love knowing random details like that so I thought you might as well.

Does anyone know where I can find screencaps for seasons one and two of American Dreams? I'm trying to put together a picspam and cap_it has caps for season three in the memories, but I can't find any for seasons one or two. Any help would be very much appreciated!

11:39 pm - Favourite Covers?

Hello!
I was wondering what your favourite covers were. Mine would be Jennifer Love Hewitt's cover of Nancy Sinatra's These Boots are Made For Walkin' and Wayne Brady's cover of Jackie Wilson's Baby Workout. That one was a riot ("here comes the coat, coat's coming off").

1:55 am - Request and/or question for discussion
|

Hello all. Hope you're doing well. So I downloaded (from iTunes) a whole bunch of songs that were featured on season 1 right after I watched it. I'm now doing the same thing for seasons 2 and 3, though I haven't seen them yet (waiting for the DVDs...hopefully they'll be out soon). I came across this video of Gavin DeGraw singing on the show, and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find an audio/mp3 version of this song (either by DeGraw or another singer)? I've listened to the Smokey Robinson version available on iTunes, but I like the way DeGraw sang it...the slower version.
Also, in terms of music, a question for discussion - what are some of your favorite songs featured on the show? Either on Bandstand or in the background like this song? Favorite song you already knew about and just like the way it was used, or favorite song you discovered through the show?
