Hey, I’m Azhar 👋

I’m a computer science student interested in low level programming, distributed systems, and observability tooling. I write mostly C++, Rust, Go, and Python.

What I’m up to right now

I’m an LFX Mentee at OpenTelemetry, working on Go Compile Time Instrumentation under the guidance of Kemal Akkoyun and Dario Castañé. I stumbled into observability while trying to add tracing to a Discord minigame I was building. I had no idea what I was doing, and I ended up here.

I also daily-drive KDE Plasma and contribute to KDE apps and libraries like KArchive and NeoChat. I was a GSoC 2025 mentee at KDE, working on OSS-Fuzz under the guidance of Albert Astals Cid.

I write blog posts about the things I’m working on and learning along the way, check them out here.

When I’m not at a keyboard, I’m probably losing at chess.
