Our logo was born right at home—literally. When our designer came over to talk ideas, he was greeted by Gunnar, our Norwegian Elkhound pup at the time. He was in full mischief mode, proudly chewing on one of our tools. That moment sparked the concept: a strong, loyal dog with a hammer in his mouth. It stuck. Alpha dog. Alpha Developments. A symbol of grit, loyalty, and building things that last.
Q. Do you have a full team, or do I need to bring my own designer or engineer?
We’ve got a strong team ready to go. Whether you’re starting with a blank slate or need help refining an idea, we offer access to an engineer, interior designer, and a blueprint draftsperson who understand how to bring a project from concept to completion. That said, if you already have someone you like working with, we’re happy to collaborate. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and well-supported as possible—however that looks for you.
Q. How early should I get in touch about a project?
The sooner the better. We can help guide everything from lot selection and permitting to design and budgeting. Early involvement helps avoid surprises down the road.
Q. Can I live in the home during the renovation?
In many cases, yes—but it depends on the scope. We’ll talk you through what to expect and help you make the best decision for comfort and safety.
Q. How do you handle timelines and delays?
We build realistic schedules, communicate often, and adapt quickly if challenges come up. Our goal is always to keep you in the loop and the project moving.
Q. Do you have your own crew, or do you subcontract?
We have a reliable in-house crew for core construction work and trusted subcontractors for specialty trades. Everyone we bring on site is held to our standards.
Q. Can you help with design ideas and finishes?
Yes—our interior designer can help guide material selections, layout tweaks, and the overall look and feel of your space.
Q. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We’re fully licensed, insured, and familiar with all local building code and permitting requirements.
Q. Do you work outside of Watrous and Manitou Beach?
We typically serve within a 40-mile radius, but reach out if you’re nearby—we may still be able to help.
