How does AI-MIDI work?

AI-MIDI use our own AI technology to transcribe your audio. It's incredibly accurate and fast. Our AI figures out all the musical details—things like the pitch, duration, velocity, dynamics, and even when the pedal is used. You'll then be able to get an expressive MIDI file.

Which instruments does AI-MIDI recognize?

AI-MIDI currently provides Piano and Guitar transcription models. The dedicated Drum model is still in development.

How is the quality of the converted MIDI files?

Accuracy depends on recording quality and arrangement density. Choose the model that matches the main instrument; clear, prominent instruments generally produce better results.

Why isn't my file downloading?

When conversion is complete, use the download button to save the full MIDI. A download uses your Free weekly result or paid-plan credits.

What audio file formats do you support?

We support standard audio file formats including FLAC, MP3, OGG, and WAV. Maximum audio length varies by plan.

Can I convert video or MP4 to MIDI?

Yes. For video to MIDI or MP4 to MIDI, use the Video tab and upload a supported video file such as MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, or WebM. AI-MIDI processes the video's audio track and generates a MIDI file. Video uploads currently support files up to 5 minutes and 50MB.

Yes. After sign-in, Free supports previews and one full MIDI download each week for audio up to 5 minutes. Paid plans offer monthly transcription credits and higher upload limits.

How long does the conversion take?

Conversion time depends on the length and complexity of your audio file. It's usually processed quickly within a few minutes, but it might take a bit longer for very long or complex files.

What about copyright issues for uploaded or processed content?

Users are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary copyright clearance for any audio files they upload. AI-MIDI is not liable for copyright violations. Please refer to our Terms of Service for more details.

Where can I use the MIDI files from AI-MIDI?

You can use downloaded MIDI files in MIDI-compatible DAWs and music production tools such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, and Pro Tools. AI-MIDI exports standard MIDI files, so compatibility depends on each software application's MIDI import support.
