In 2007, the American German Shepherd Dog Charitable Foundation (AGSDCF) made its first gift to support canine health studies at Morris Animal Foundation. Since then, AGSDCF has continued its investment in research, particularly in health concerns for the German Shepherd Dog.<\/div>

What We Do at AGSDCF<\/em><\/a><\/h2><\/div>

We research and fund medical studies that look for the cause of, prevention of, and treatment of the German Shepherd Dog’s most debilitating issues.<\/p>\n

Research Into Perianal Fistulas<\/em><\/a><\/h2><\/div>

We are proud to have fully funded a donor-inspired Morris Animal Foundation study D21CA-505: Whole genome sequencing to identify genetic risk factors for perianal fistulas (anal furtunculosis) in German Shepherd Dogs and Leonbergers. The chief investigator is Brian Catchpole BVetMed MSc(VetEd) PhD FHEA FRCVS at the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London. For those of us who have been affected by this horrible disease, it’s a ray of sunshine. We hope you will join us by donating to this exciting study.\u00a0
