For a growing country, the most needed stimulus is energy. Without any access to adequate energy resources it is hard for a growing country to sustain economic development. Especially after the 1973 Oil Crisis, the importance of energy resources has been well understood. Most of the developed countries took measures to avoid the undesirable effects of reliance on these energy resources since then. This page of the history has contributed the most to the evolution of the modern day energy economics field. Thenceforth the developing and the developed world rang the changes to manage their energy policies effectively. Sustainable development on the other hand-most broadly-implies the effective use of resources aiming at development not just for present but also for future generations. As effective managing of the energy policy would entail reaping benefits in the long run, energy economics becomes a field with crucial role in sustainable development. Therefore, this paper promotes the effective use of energy resources for a growing country from both perspectives of energy economics and sustainable development.

As the global crisis surrounds us, Turkey, as a country with huge prospects, needs to establish new political and commercial links with the rest of the world in order to lessen the effects of the global crisis. This can be a way to take the load off Turkey's shoulders. These links can be found in the continent Africa. As the host of world's several fastest growing economies, the continent offers new opportunities for Turkey. These opportunities can be utilized as either in the form of Foreign Direct Investment or in the form of tied aids. Both can be really effective for Turkey if well handled. This paper investigates future potential prospects in the continent Africa for Turkey. Investigating each country both in North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa for the opportunities they present will provide an inside look at the continent and will offer one way to ease the effects of the global crisis for Turkey. For markets being relatively more developed in the continent, using Foreign Direct Investment -as Foreign Direct Investment would generate more benefits for the main investor countries when the level of development in the host country increases -with correct timing would yield considerable profits. On the other hand for the less developed countries in the continent, using tied aids aiming at resources would reap potential benefits for Turkey. In search for potential prospects for Turkey in Africa, one must not forget the fact that; even though these nations have excolonial ties with their big brothers in the West -either strong or weak -they are now looking for new relationships too. If it is our job to introduce these new links, so be it.

The economic development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus remains to be volatile mainly due to the isolation of the de facto Turkish Cypriot state. While on one hand, high costs of energy in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus associated with the isolation, remains as a huge obstacle for the increment in Turkish Cypriot production, embargo placed upon her, including closure of ports and airports, on the other, restrains international trade for Turkish Cypriots, thus making the Turkish Cypriot economy a challanged one. Therefore, after indicating the burdensome effects of isolation on the economy of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, this paper proposes how the Turkish Cypriot economy needs to overcome her self-reliance issues and suggests alternative solutions to the Turkish Cypriot economy. For this purpose, by using time-series analysis this paper provides a double-model approach in which the economic growth of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is mainly dependent on aid transfers from Turkish government and is suffering from isolation in the first, and is determined by the free-trade and free-movement of international capital brought by becoming a transition economy and therefore easing the contractions on the economy, on the hypothetical second model. While the results of the analysis employed in this paper confirms that main problems of Turkish Cypriot economy are associated with the isolation, it also indicates that Turkish Cypriot economy would be better off in an isolationfree environment. Thus, this paper aims to assert the importance of self-determination rights for the Turkish Cypriots.

Even though the name is Arab Spring, neither the protests nor the effects of them seem to remain confined just to the Arab world. The reason for that is simple; increasing globalization. Due to our present world of globalization and the opportunities that it presents, the wave of protests have easily crossed the borders and spread from North African deserts to the Arabian Peninsula and even to Israel within a very short span of time. Inspiration led demands have ranged from reformative acts to government overthrows, leaving the region within turmoil of large scale. The significance of the Arab Spring lies in the natural-resource-rich geopolitical importance of the region. Thus, like the protests themselves, their effects have made and are yet making a tremendous impact. Therefore, this paper attempts to explore the potential effects of the Arab Spring and endeavors to give an insight into the politics of the region.

The Industrial Revolution, which began in England in the eighteenth century, is the result of a long period of social and economic evolution extending into the late Middle Ages. Apart from its several favorable outcomes, Industrial Revolution caused some undesirable outcomes for working life. The aim of this study is to inspect Dickens’s Hard Times which can be counted as one of the preliminary works that reflected on
effects of Industrial Revolution on working life with a critical perspective within the scope of administrative mentality of that time. Within this context, scientific works which focused on the intellectual foundations of the industrial era and Dicken's Hard Times are taken into  consideration for the conceptional framework of the study. Qualitative research approach has been adopted to the study and through the
inspection of the novel, the main perspectives which make up the foundations of management mentality have been evaluated. As a result of this study, it is seen that positivitism, economy science and utilitarianism have been influential in the management concept and practices of the Industrial Revolution era. In Hard Times, Dickens propounds the negative effects of these perspectives which can be useful for the humankind when used for good causes.

Globalization leads companies to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion as a daily topic. This study concentrates on Colgate-Palmolive and its diversity, equity, and inclusion reports. The aim of the study is to provide insight into how Colgate-Palmolive constructs dimensions of diversity, equity, and inclusion and its comparison with the literature framework. Content analysis is conducted on diversity, equity, and inclusion reports to create a deeper understanding. Findings reveal that "ethnicity, race, gender, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, ability" are overemphasized while "religion, age, educational background, and parental status, income, appearance, personal-recreational habit, marital status, neuroticism, work experience" are less or hardly mentioned for diversity dimension. "Pay parity, sexual orientation" are too often mentioned for equity dimension as "pregnancy, maternity, civil partnerships, psychological safety" are relatively less seen dimensions in reports. Also great importance is given to inclusion for integrating differences and creating a culture of belonging through many inclusive practices. The insights generated from our study have the potential to contribute to the diversity management literature with new dimensions and to assist practitioners to locate DEI dimensions in their companies.
