Agricultural and Environmental Modelling (AEM) is an innovative open-access journal dedicated to advancing both the science and practice of modelling across Agriculture, Food Systems, Natural Resources, and Environmental Sciences.

Recognising that modern research is data-centric, collaborative, and iterative, the journal pioneers new publishing formats designed to make modelling research FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). To this end, AEM enables scholarly credit for diverse research outputs (“research objects”) across the entire modelling research lifecycle rather than focusing solely on traditional research papers.

Agricultural and Environmental Modelling (AEM) is a replacement title for and continuation of the Food and Ecological Systems Modelling Journal (FESMJ), ISSN 2815-3197 (published from 2022 to 2026) and Food Modelling Journal (FMJ), ISSN 2603-4301 (published from 2019 to 2022). All content of the journal under its previous and current titles is available through the present website.
