Overview

The AFI plugin allows you to connect your WordPress forms with Smartlead.ai, enabling automated lead creation in your Smartlead campaigns. When a user submits a form on your site, their data is instantly added as a new lead in your selected Smartlead campaign.

This integration is ideal for cold email outreach, lead generation, and sales automation workflows.

🔧 How To Setup

Step 1: Get Your Smartlead API Key

To connect your Smartlead account:

  1. Log in to your Smartlead.ai dashboard

  2. Go to Settings → API

  3. Copy your API Key

Step 2: Connect Smartlead in AFI

  1. Navigate to AFI → Settings → Smartlead

  2. Paste your API Key in the designated field

  3. Click Save Changes

You can connect multiple Smartlead accounts by saving multiple credentials.

Step 3: Create a New Integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New

  2. Add a title like “Smartlead Campaign Entry”

🔹 Trigger

  • Form Provider: Choose the form plugin you use (e.g., WPForms, Fluent Forms, Elementor, etc.)

  • Form Name: Select the form you want to connect

Step 4: Configure the Action

  • Platform: Select Smartlead.ai

  • Task: Select Add Lead to Campaign

Step 5: Map Fields

After selecting the task:

  • Smartlead Account
    Choose the connected account (credential) from the dropdown

  • Campaign
    Select a campaign from your Smartlead account (populated automatically)

  • Field Mapping
    Map your form fields to Smartlead lead fields such as:

    • Email

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Company

    • Custom fields (if any)

These values will be used to create new leads in the selected campaign.

Step 6: Save Integration

Click Save Integration to complete the setup.

🎉 Now, every form submission will automatically add a lead to your Smartlead campaign!

🔍 Troubleshooting

If your integration isn’t working as expected:

🔹 Check the Logs
Go to AFI → Log and inspect the request/response to diagnose issues.

🔹 Invalid API Key
Ensure the API key is correct and active from your Smartlead dashboard.

🔹 Campaigns Not Loading
Check if you selected a valid Smartlead account. Re-select it to fetch the latest campaigns.

🔹 Leads Not Adding
Ensure that required fields like Email are properly mapped and not empty.

🔹 Error in Logs
Look for 4xx or 5xx response codes. Invalid data or authentication issues are commonly the cause.
