Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda...

Six months after my wonderful trip through the US South, I come to the following conclusions:

1. As suspected, all other possible holiday destinations look pretty dreary now, after New Orleans & Co.
2. Surprisingly, what I miss most food-wise is not Cajun food (as I assumed I would), because I have a basic understanding of ingredients and know how to read a cook book. No, what I miss most is rootbeer. *sigh*
3. I should have bought more than two bottles of Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner.

No, there is no point to this entry. In case you were wondering.
Just random ramblings from an overused mind.

BUFFY OR JOSS WHEDON FANS OUT THERE?

Are there Buffy Fans on my Flist? 'Cause I have a question for you:

If you had to or wanted to write a master's thesis on Buffy, what topic would you chose?
I mean, which aspect would you want to analyze and with which intent?

This question is not purely theoretical. I'm a film major and I'm at the point in my studies where I have to choose a thesis topic. I want it to be centered around Buffy (or even better Joss Whedon). However, I feel like I'm too deep in the Buffy universe to come up with something interesting and original. Initially, I wanted to do something like "Joss Whedon's fantastic worlds". But there's no statement behind it; no theory that I could explore or analyze. Do you have any ideas?

I have read a few papers/theses on Buffy. One of them focused on gender roles, another compared Buffy and Sabrina, yet another touched on the "hero's journey" type of thing.

Suggestions, anyone? Pleaaaaase??

Schreibhemmung

What is the biggest major life change you've made in the past five years? Do you think it was positive, negative, or neutral?
To quit med school. Best decision of my life. Never let it be told that giving up is easy. It took me almost 2 years to quit because I was afraid of how my family/friends/etc. would react. Giving up is not easy. Staying in the comfort of what you know is.
