“I was today years old when I found out that...” I often hear this phrase when I’m killing time on SNS. People use this phrase to talk about something that they’ve just learned or just found out.
For example: I was today years old when I found out that you can convert 西暦 to 令和 quite easily. (current year 20XX) – 018(令和) = (current Reiwa year) 2024 – 018 = 6

Is 「ふ」pronounced “FU” or “HU”?
My husband and I were watching TV and saw a commercial for “Food Way.” (↓Our conversation after the commercial↓)
Husband: 「フードウェイ! フードウェイ!」 (While pointing at a hooded shirt that I was wearing.)
Me: “Fu―ドウェイ“ not “Hu―ドウェイ.”
Husband: There is only one way to pronounce「ふ」in Japanese. It’s not FU nor HU. It has the “F” pronunciation when we say, 「ふぁ、ふぃ、ふぇ、ふぉ」 but it is usually pronounced 「ふ」a sound between F and H.
Me: So you say, 「と う ふ」 not 「と う FU」?
Husband: Yes, 「と う ふ」. Your top teeth don’t touch the bottom lip.
The more I thought about it, the more confused I got! A few hours later, I thought of some other words that have a 「ふ」in it and noticed that I sometimes say, FU and sometimes say HU （＾＿＾；
