Accessibility Mini-Audit

Your site has accessibility roadblocks creating revenue loss and exposing you to litigation.

An AccessiCart Mini Audit can help you get started on fixes, fast.

16,000+ accessibility lawsuits are filed or threatened against eCommerce sites per year in the US

$8 Trillion The 25% of adults who have disabilities (collectively $8 trillion in global annual spending power) simply abandon sites they can’t navigate

Working on accessibility can feel like a headache, but some of the biggest accessibility barriers are systemic. Fix your header navigation once, and you’ve fixed it across almost all your pages. Correct your color contrast in CSS, and your entire site improves. The AccessiCart Mini-Audit is designed specifically to help set the scene in this way, giving you strategic recommendations you can take action on effectively, really fast.

What Makes this Different

  • Automated tools only catch ~30% of issues. We combine automation with real manual expert testing to find the barriers that actually block real users.
  • One page will reveal site-wide quick fixes. We audit your homepage or checkout page (or another high-impact page) but identify systemic issues in your header, footer, and global styles that affect your entire site.
  • Context-aware prioritization. Not all accessibility issues are equal. We tell you what’s blocking conversions, and what puts you at legal risk.
  • You’re not left alone with a report. 60 days of dashboard access means you can ask questions, document fixes, and request re-testing as you work.

FAQs

Automated tools only find about 30% of accessibility issues. Manual testing is required to find the rest. For instance, an automated tool can tell you if you are missing alt text – not whether the alt text is inadequate, like when some brands simply use the product name as the alt text, one of the most cited issues in ADA lawsuit threats. Only manual testing can reliably find these types of issues.

A number of accessibility issues are more global in nature, like problems with keyboard navigation in the menu or color contrast issues with the brand palette. Getting an audit of a single strategically selected webpage is an affordable way to surface some of these more global issues. Fixing them globally as a one-time fix typically fixes them on most of the pages of your site, giving you quick and impactful improvements.

AccessiCart offers ongoing monthly remediation support plans that not only provide support for fixes, but continue to look for additional accessibility issues on the site. At the end of your 60 days, you are welcome to download documentation of issues, support engagement and validation of fixes. But if you aren’t finished and you’d like continued support, or you’d like to get additional issues identified from other pages of your site, we would be glad to get a monthly plan started for you. Accessibility overlay widgets and only find and help try to fix about 30% of accessibility issues – because they rely on the automated testing that can only find 30% of issues. Additionally, overlay widgets often conflict with assistive technology that users already have on their devices, may have privacy issues, and are increasingly a target for US ADA serial plaintiff lawsuits.
