Accessibility Benefits Everyone
Accessibility is not just a legal requirement — it is a fundamental expression of our values as a university. Accessibility removes barriers and allows everyone to access, use and benefit from programs, services and activities.
By championing an accessible campus, we empower every student to reach their full potential and enable our educators to deliver more impactful, flexible and innovative instruction.
Ramps are necessary for some people with limited mobility. They also benefit anyone using a mobility device, a handtruck or pushing a stroller.
Captioning not only helps people who are Deaf or hard of hearing access audio information, but it also can reinforce verbal material and increase comprehension for English Learners, nontraditional students and visual learners.
Websites with clear, consistent and organized design benefit people using assistive technologies. They also allow for easier navigation and are more visually appealing to everyone.
