The influence of cerium impurities on the efficiency and the rates of formation and decay of the photoinduced second harmonic generation in lead-containing glasses based on barium metaphosphate is experimentally investigated. It is shown that introduction of 1.5 mol % of cerium dioxide into the initial glass leads to a substantial gain in the generation efficiency and an increase of at least two orders of magnitude in the dark decay time of the induced quadratic susceptibility.

Lexicon development and Part of Speech (POS) tagging are very important for almost all Natural Language Processing(NLP) application areas. The rapid development of these resources and tools using machine learning techniques for less computerized languages requires appropriately tagged corpus. A tagged Bengali news corpus has been developed from the web archive of a widely read Bengali newspaper. This corpus is then used for lexicon development and POS tagging.
