Who We Are
Creating Homes Where Independence Thrives
AbilityPath Housing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to one powerful vision: a world where adults with developmental disabilities live with independence and a true sense of belonging in their communities.
Our Mission
We provide community-based living arrangements, with the availability of supportive services from other organizations such as AbilityPath, so adults with developmental disabilities can live fulfilling lives. Through thoughtfully designed homes and person-centered support, we’re transforming independent living for people with developmental disabilities.
Our Impact
AbilityPath Housing currently operates three homes, located in the cities of San Bruno and San Mateo, California, serving 16 adults with developmental disabilities. These are more than homes – they’re cooperative living communities designed to foster independence, where residents actively participate in household decisions, develop life skills, and build meaningful relationships with housemates and neighbors.

What We Do
The AbilityPath Housing Difference
Community Integration: Our homes are intentionally located in residential neighborhoods, providing natural opportunities for community involvement and relationship building.
Cooperative Living: Residents support one another in a collaborative environment, sharing responsibilities and celebrating achievements together.
Individualized Support: We recognize that each person has unique needs, preferences, and goals. We ensure the services offered are person-centered and tailored to each resident.
Family Partnership: We work closely with families, ensuring continuity of care and fostering lasting connections between residents and their loved ones.
Whether you’re a potential resident, a family member, a volunteer, or a supporter, there’s a place for you in the AbilityPath Housing community. Together, we’re building a more inclusive world—one home at a time.
