This year’s festival, Mies Didn’t Come Home That Night, is curated by Karen Kjærgaard with co-curators, Aysha Amin, Ida Bjerga & Aria Gilani.
WHAT TO EXPECT
On 18 September, the Aarhus School of Architecture transforms into an international architecture festival for dialogue and knowledge exchange on architectural matters. Across six stages, the festival features discussions, interviews, exhibitions, and artistic interventions.
WHERE DID MIES GO?
OPEN26 explores the legacy of modernism and its continued impact on architecture and society – for better and for worse.
Using history as catalyst, Mies Didn’t Come Home That Night further asks how utopia can be a tool for imagining architectural futures, inviting architects, researchers, writers and thinkers to engage in discussion across borders, age and gender, from emerging to established practices.
