2025 Virtual Grad Office Hours and Informational Meetings

The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Office holds Virtual Office Hours every day of the week, Monday thru Friday, at different times each day to accommodate the various schedules of our students. In addition, several informational meetings are held throughout the semester to help students better understand and complete the various processes and requirements for their degrees. Call for Applications: Google PhD Fellowship Nomination

Purdue can submit applications for up to four outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. Grad students must apply to be selected as one of the four potential nominees. Application instructions are listed in the attached flyer. **Deadline to request nomination is Friday, April 4 at NOON ET**

Poster Submission for the Graduate Engineering Research Symposium

You are invited to submit a poster for the first ever Graduate Engineering Research Symposium to be held at Purdue University in Indianapolis on Friday, April 4, 2025!

Submit your abstract here by Monday, March 17th.   Selected participants will be notified by Friday, March 21st. You must be available to present your poster in Indianapolis according to the schedule below. West Lafayette students should consider travel time when determining availability.

The symposium will also include lab tours and lunch for all poster presenters. A $50 Amazon gift card goes to the top 3 posters!

Research Fellowship at RWTH Aachen in Germany

Are you a PhD student or postdoc and would love to experience life and work in a state-of-the-art German research ecosystem for some time? If so, our AROP program might be just what you are looking for.

AROP – short for Advanced Research Opportunities Program – is an RWTH Aachen University funding program that offers travel grants and scholarships to support research stays of international PhD students and postdocs from strategically relevant international universities or research institutions. The goal of the program is to strengthen and intensify bilateral relations between RWTH Aachen University and international universities or research institutions of strategic relevance.

Among other purposes, you may use your research stay to work on joint research projects and publications and to initiate joint projects in the field of capacity building.

Information at a glance:

Target Group: PhD students and postdocs of strategically relevant international universities and research institutions

Length of stay: up to 6 months

Deadline: March 31, 2025

Scholarship: Monthly stipend of € 1,800 | Travel grant of € 500 to 1,500 euros (depending on country of origin)
