After weeks of rumors, leaked pics, and plenty of excitement, LEGO has officially ripped the veil off the new 76968 Dinosaur Fossils Tyrannosaurus Rex set. This massive build, perfect for Jurassic Park fans, promises a dynamic option for displays, complete with articulation, minifigures, an Easter egg, and more. We’re getting this news well ahead of its release in March, giving folks plenty of time to prep so they can grab one for themselves once purchases open – sadly, preorders aren’t being offered beforehand. Head below to get more information on what to expect as well as browse the photos we’ve collected.
LEGO’s 76968 Dinosaur Fossils Tyrannosaurus Rex set is poised to be a centerpiece for many dinosaur and movie franchise fans alike – young or old – as they expand their dino/Jurassic Park collection. The LEGO Group has spared no expense it seems, as the sheer scale of this model is a wonder to behold all on its own. It is scheduled for an exclusive release through either the online or your local LEGO store on March 12, 2025 for LEGO Insiders, with a general release slated for March 15, 2025 at $249.99 shipped.
Stacking up to 3,145 pieces, with everything together you’ll be facing down a gargantuan model that stands 12.5 inches tall and 41 inches long. It boasts articulated joints, with a movable head (including an opening jaw), tail, and posable arms, giving your display a much more customizable addition. Considering the size and the detailed brick work here, the price isn’t too bad and actually falls within the reasonable rate. Plus, along with the Tyrant Lizard King (which we now know had feathers), you’ll also be getting a display stand, an information plaque, Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant minifigures, and “hidden dig-site Easter eggs that include an ‘amber’ piece.”
